Okay, new issue. It seems that Tread crashes sometimes when I'm compiling. Sometimes, meaning, a lot. A whole lot.

At first, it seems to be doing fine, and I can get through maybe 10 compiles before anything happens. Then it picks up the pace, and starts crashing a lot more, say 1 out of 3 or 4 compiling attempts will crash. And it seems to get worse as time goes by, where I end up with it crashing every other time I try to compile my map.

At first I thought it had something to do with entities, since it always seemed to start happening when I started putting them in. This turned out to be not the case, as I started making a map and trying to finish all the architecture before I started adding entities, and it began the usual compiling crashing chain as per usual.

    Help?

Sorry I haven't checked the forums in awhile. Sorry to hear about the crashes. Can you email me the level you're having problems with. Can you tell me more about the crash. Does the editor crash as in, you get a crash dialog and then the editor closes? Or is QBSP or the other compiling tools what is crashing?

From the symptoms you describe it sounds like the quake tools are crashing, not the editor per-se.

It happens on all my maps. The usual way it happens is I hit "Compile & Run Map", the compiler output pops up, and it gets out two lines:

    exporting 'C:\Program Files\Quake\id1\maps\blah.wad'...
    exporting 'C:\Program Files\Quake\id1\maps\blah.map'...

And then it crashes, saying that Tread has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Can you email me a couple of the maps that crash. It'll help me fix the crash.
